"As an Upper Primary Leader, I could not be more proud of where we stand today: a department confident and secure in its mission of providing a world-class education to the students it serves, placing them in the centre of everything we do.

Having taught both Romanian and the National Curriculum of England, it is a great pleasure to see our students and teachers in Primary working together even though they study different curricula. Whatever classroom you walk into, you can see great teaching and learning in action, and polite, confident and engaging students.

A student’s time in Primary is very special, and we are committed to making their experience during their time with us intrinsically rewarding and positive. Enjoyment and challenge are at the heart of successful learning and we endeavor to achieve this through a broad and balanced curriculum which allows students to reach their potential."

                                                                                                                                                               Upper Primary Leader

The Upper Primary includes the following year groups:

  • Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, where teaching is based on the National Curriculum of England. The children enrolled here also receive 3-4 periods of Romanian/week (2 for non-natives).

  • Grade 2, 3, 4, where we offer the Romanian National Curriculum, enriched with additional courses: intensive English classes (5 periods/week); Computing, Art, Music and PE, PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), also taught in English.

By the time they transition into middle school our students are fully prepared to use their knowledge, as well as the experience gained while practicing the 7 Habits. They will be able to be proactive, to do first things first; to begin with the end in mind; to think win-win; to synergize; to seek first to understand, then to be understood; to be healthy and to find balance (sharpen the saw).

"The school is very successful in enabling students to develop their personal skills and qualities. They are thoughtful and well behaved."
