Director of Training & Staff Development
With the experience of teaching in international schools and in the UK, Harry Shuttleworth joined Transylvania College in 2014 as a teacher of Chemistry. He had an essential role in designing the new SPArK Science center at Transylvania College, allowing students to develop an array of practical skills.
Over the last two years, he has taken the responsibility of leading the staff development programme. He is also part of the team coordinating the "The Leader in Me" process, which is now moving into its second year. Implementing the process has already made a big difference to the school culture and in the students' outlook on personal development and continuous learning. Harry is the co-author of a new educational book developing mindfulness for teachers, which will guide Transylvania College staff by showing them how their school, classrooms and students can become the anchor to stay present in the here and now.
